Robot vacuums employ navigational tools such as sensors, lasers and cameras to map your space and clean efficiently while avoiding obstacles. Some robot vacuums are able to mop and self-empty your dustbins!
Many connect to apps or digital voice assistants to allow hands-free cleaning. Some models have features like automatic docks and boundary strips to reduce the amount of work you do.
1. Roborock S8 maxV Ultra
Roborock's most popular robot vacuum cleaner doesn't fail to impress. It comes with more advanced features, but its main benefit is that it can effectively clean your home. It can identify floor types and stains, as well as zones that aren't allowed. It does this using cameras and smart maps to assess its environment. This helps determine what to do and when to do it so that you don't have to press a button constantly or set multiple modes.
It can mop like all Roborock vacuums. This is a great addition to the Roborock range because it makes the robovac more efficient. The mop head is efficient and can be switched to a scrub mode for cleaning more difficult dirt. The robovac also has the ability to climb small thresholds with its rotating FlexiArm and front-mounted sensors.
The app is easy to use and lets you modify settings. You can also create rooms for the robot to vacuum. The voice assistant, Rocky, is very responsive and responds to commands clearly. You can ask it to end a task or recite specific commands. It is also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, and Matter-certified to work with Apple HomeKit.
The S8 MaxV Ultra has 5200mAh battery that can run for up 180 minutes before returning to the dock to recharge. The battery is automatically empty and cleaned at the end every run. This cuts down the time to recharge.
2. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 Ultra vacuum cleaner is an extremely powerful machine that excels in both vacuuming as well as mopping. This vacuum cleaner has strong suction, advanced features, and is pet-friendly. It's an excellent choice for busy families. Its advanced navigation, obstacle avoidance, and custom options make it among the top robot vacuum cleaners on the market.
This robot vacuum uses a RGB camera to map out its surroundings and detect obstacles using artificial intelligence. This prevents it from getting into your cat's toys or a cable that is lying on the floor and ruining your flooring. This feature lets you mark areas that the robot should not clean.
Dreame X40 also excels in mowing and sweeps, with a unique dual brush system that gets rid of dirt in the corners of your living space. It can also clean baseboards, too which makes it a great option for families with children and pets. The robot vacuum is simple to set up and operate and has a smart application that gives a variety of customization options.
This robot vacuum has an auto-cleaning system that automatically empties the waste bins, and then refills the cleaning solutions tank. This saves your time. This vacuum can clean up to 308 sq m in 198 minutes. It can also return to its dock automatically to charge, allowing you to seamlessly pick up where it began. It is also compatible with Alexa Siri and Google Home so you can control it using your voice. You can download the Dreame X40 app on iOS or Android devices to customize your cleaning regimen.
3. Eufy X10
The Eufy X10 offers a wide variety of features for an affordable price. It can do everything you have a robot vacuum or mop to do, all at a fair price.
This model does an excellent job of tackling floor cleaning tasks without hands, from sweeping to mopping and even dusting. The base station is a little larger than some rivals and requires 50cm of room cleaning robot either side plus 150cm in front but for those with enough space, it can provide an entirely hands-off clean.
The intelligent navigation technology of the X10 is able monitor the layout and design of your home. It stores the data in its internal memory without ever sending it to the cloud. The X10 can remember the layout of rooms with iPath and AI See. It can also optimize cleaning routes so that they can be efficient and thorough.
The X10's intelligent object recognition system works well it allows the robot to easily identify and avoid hazards like power cords. It is also able to automatically clean and recharge its battery which is a nice feature. However, I found that the X10 may be stuck on thicker carpets, which can cause it to crash loudly over them and sometimes pushing its front brush into the rugs.
This is a fantastic robo-vacuum and mop, but it's let down by the jargon-filled application. Eufy Clean's app isn't as easy to use as the iRobot App, which guides you through the process of setting your robot up and teaches you how to use. It's a great choice for those looking to modify the app to their preferences.

The SwitchBot S10 is a full-fledged vacuum cleaner and mop robot, which offers the best of the two worlds of home cleaning. It is an exclusive two-station design framework that allows it to provide mopping water and collect dust within the same machine, which results in complete automation of the cleaning process.
It is equipped with all of the sensors found on high-end robotic vacuums. This allows it to map your home in real-time while making sure to avoid obstacles and recognize different kinds of carpets and hard flooring. A front-facing camera with AI capabilities is also included, making it easier to navigate your home and locate areas that are otherwise unaccessible for robotic vacuums in general.
This powerful robotic device has a suction motor with a high-powered power that's capable of picking up dirt, pet hair, and other messes from carpeting with low pile and hard floors. It can also be customized using the app to meet your needs with specific cleaning routines, adjustments to vacuuming and mopping power, and real-time notifications of its current status.
It mops exceptionally well, with a RevoRoll roller mop that puts 10N of force on any floor, and a RinseSync system that automatically cleans itself as it moves through your home. This ensures that the mop is clean as it picks up dirt, thus preventing it from spreading the mess throughout your home.
The battery life isn't like some of its rivals and may require a recharge halfway through in the event of an extensive house. It also sounds extremely loud when in operation, so it may not be suitable for use in places where quiet is desired. However, it is an excellent value for its price. The SwitchBot S10 has a sleek, contemporary look that makes it a standout model in its category.
5. K10 Plus
The K10 Plus is an upgrade from Switchbot's bestselling Mini robot vacuum. The latest version comes with an innovative Anti-Tangle Rubber Brush with an Advanced Position Sensitive Detector sensor (PSD) and an increased suction power of up to 3000Pa, which provides superior corner coverage.
The K10 Plus uses SLAM navigation which is a simple application and an extensive cleaning process. The PSD sensor works in tandem with a rotary brush to navigate around furniture. The four-stage cleaning system combines, lifts, sweeps and vacuums to eliminate dust from floors and carpets. The dustbin is self-emptying and you don't need to worry about it being emptying frequently.
The app also lets you to mark areas of the space that you want the device to avoid like pets or power cords. This is a standard feature on most robotic vacuums, and it's useful when you have specific areas of the home that need more attention than others.
You can set the K10 Plus so that it returns to its base station after 60, 75 or even 90 minutes in order to empty its dust bin. This is an enormous improvement over other robots that need to be returned regularly and manually emptied to save time.
In my tests, I discovered that the K10 Plus' battery life was excellent. It lasted for 110 minutes on one charge. This is higher than the iRobot Roomba Combo's time of 127 minutes.
The K10 Plus is a compact device that can easily be placed under furniture or in smaller spaces. It connects via Wi-Fi, and comes with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri shortcuts. It is compatible with IFTTT Samsung SmartThings, Samsung SmartThings as well as IFTTT. The app tracks how often you use its accessories, like the side brushes, filter and dust bag.
