Synergies with Path of Exile 2 Currency Other Elemental Affinities
Cold Affinity works exceptionally well when combined with Fire and Lightning, offering a mix of crowd control, damage over time (DoT), and burst damage. Here’s how Cold works alongside the other elemental affinities:

Cold + Fire Synergy:
Cold debuffs (such as Frostbite) lower enemy resistances and slow them down, making them more vulnerable to Fire damage, especially damage over time effects like Ignite.

Freeze enemies using cold spells and then follow up with fire-based abilities (like Volcano or Fireball), which can apply burn effects over time. The stunned or frozen enemies become easy targets for the damage over time from Fire, maximizing the effectiveness of both elements.

Fire + Cold Combo: Fire spells (especially DoT abilities) become much more effective when enemies are slowed or frozen, as they stay in the area of effect for longer, taking continuous damage from the Fire.

Cold + Lightning Synergy:
Cold and Lightning are often paired because Lightning spells tend to amplify damage from other elements. For example, using Chain Lightning or Lightning Storm on enemies affected by Frostbite or freeze increases their vulnerability to all damage, especially cold spells.

Shock from lightning can make frozen or slowed enemies more susceptible to cold damage from spells like Ice Shards, dealing significantly more damage.

Chain Lightning can also hit multiple enemies in POE 2 Orbs a group, while frozen enemies are unable to evade, maximizing the effectiveness of lightning against crowd-controlled targets.
