A plant setup that handles short encounters smoothly can become awkward when a longer fight exposes gaps in effect duration or forces constant repositioning. Spending more Path of Exile 2 Currency will not automatically solve that mismatch. Idol of Yeena deserves attention because its two equipment effects address different problems, but neither replaces a coherent rotation. The useful question is whether your plants need more time to work or a better opportunity to Overgrow.
Identify What Actually Limits Your Plants
Idol of Yeena requires level 50 and is limited to one. In boots, it provides 30% increased Skill Effect Duration with Plant Skills. In Sceptres, plants have a 25% chance to immediately Overgrow when they enter your Presence for the first time. These are separate equipment applications, not a combined package, so judge each against the problem your build encounters most often.
The boot effect is worth considering when plant effects expire earlier than your rotation would prefer. The Sceptre effect instead asks whether your movement naturally brings plants into your Presence. Neither description establishes a universal damage increase. Longer duration matters only when the additional time is useful, while a chance-based interaction cannot be treated as a guaranteed part of every sequence.
Read The Skill Before Choosing
Toxic Growth fires Toxic Pustules that deal impact damage and detonate after a delay. Poisoning those pustules makes them detonate faster and more violently. Vine Arrow creates a plant whose vines slow nearby enemies and deal Chaos damage over time; Poison can increase that plant's damage. Those differences matter more than the shared Plant label when deciding what your equipment should support.
Do not collapse Poison interactions and Overgrowth into one assumed benefit. The supplied mechanics do not establish that increased duration improves every detonation sequence, or that every Overgrown plant receives the same advantage. A duration-focused player should examine useful uptime. A Sceptre user should examine first-entry opportunities. Players who prefer staying far from their planted effects have more reason to question the latter option.
Test Value Before Committing Resources
For farming, evaluate the complete encounter rather than the most impressive individual plant. If enemies are already defeated before an effect expires, extra duration may contribute little to that particular run. If positioning for Presence interrupts your normal pace, the Sceptre interaction may be less attractive than its description suggests. Both are practical questions to test, not reasons to dismiss either application outright.
Repeat an encounter with the same Plant Skill and note its duration, positioning demands, and completion pace without Idol of Yeena.
Test the boot application while keeping the rest of your setup unchanged, watching whether longer effects reduce unnecessary recasting.
Test the Sceptre application separately and observe plants entering your Presence for the first time without assuming every entry will trigger Overgrowth.
Compare the results with the offensive and defensive properties displaced by your equipment choice before spending further resources.
A small sample can exaggerate a chance-based effect. Repeat the comparison enough to distinguish a convenient sequence from dependable performance, and keep your movement consistent between attempts.
Plan Beyond The Immediate Upgrade
Before level 50, treat Idol of Yeena as a future decision rather than the foundation of an unfinished build. Learn which Plant Skill you enjoy maintaining and where its rotation feels inefficient. Once the requirement is met, use the comparison above to guide mid-game investment. For later progression, reassess the choice whenever your actual encounters stop rewarding the benefit you selected.
These mechanics support PvE testing against repeatable targets, but they do not establish a PvP recommendation. No confirmed player-versus-player interaction is provided here. Likewise, there is no basis for promising faster farming, stronger survival, or superior late-game performance without observing the build itself.
The better long-term choice is the effect that repeatedly improves your real rotation, not the one that sounds strongest in isolation. Preserve resources such as POE 2 Chaos Orbs until testing reveals a clear benefit. Boots suit demonstrated duration needs; Sceptres suit deliberate Presence positioning and an appetite for variable Overgrowth results.
